GUITAR
HOLIDAY
-
A 45 r.p.m single by Oasis (no - not that group from Manchester
!) - a group from somewhere in Europe. This record was used on
Radio Mi Amigo 272 mtrs medium wave, after they split from Radio
Caroline. They acquired their own vessel, M.V Magdalena, and broadcast
for a short while in 1979. Guitar Holiday was used on opening
and closure of transmissions each day, and was used extensively
to advertise the fact that the station was to begin broadcasting
in that year. Sadly, the station's life was to be a short one,
as the vessel ran aground in heavy seas. The authorities seized
the M.V Magdalena and it's crew - the station was never heard
of again. The "B" side of the single, "EILEEN",
was also quite often featured on the station.

Ronan
O' Rahilly's ideas put to music This album came with a Loving
Awareness poster.
During the seventies the Loving Awareness Band toured around
the country , I can remember them coming to Suffolk.
Later they became Ian Dury's Block Heads.
